To simply put it, I often cheat the system by drafting all the possible late-round elite goalies and trade them in the coming years draft for a top 5 selection. This becomes a problem as having this label attached to their name makes it very easy to trade them for almost any player in the game. I have also found that there are way too many medium elite potential goalies available in the later rounds. I never used the fog war feature so I will not comment about it. I would love for a gameplay slider that would allow you to turn on auto scouting where you would only interact with the scout at the beginning of the season, at the trade deadline, and at the draft, as it would make simulating a season that much more seamless. You also have the option to turn the assistant coach feature on so you are not greeted with a notification after each injury. For example, you can edit your trade block to prevent other GMs from bombarding you with trades. In addition, I love how, while simulating an NHL season, EA gives you the option to keep notifications at a minimum. Next, I love how easy it is to find good players that will develop into NHL caliber talent in the later rounds of the draft. The more high-quality scouts you have on your roster, the easier your draft-day decisions will be. The new revamped scouting engine is something I'm a big fan of. I love how EA provides you with the option to convert Franchise mode back to Be a GM mode with the use of turning off certain gameplay sliders. First, let me highlight some of the features I love about the mode. Franchise mode, as it stands, is an extremely enjoyable mode. The ultimate goal is to scout, draft and develop players, and make trades to build a championship-caliber team. To keep it simple, franchise mode allows the player to take control of an NHL franchise and perform tasks that a normal owner and general manager would carry out on an everyday basis. These are small features that have a significant impact on both gameplay and the user's satisfaction.įinally, a game mode that is heading in the right direction. Additionally, I would also love to have the option to use custom skaters in practice mode. Also, I would love to see the option to play in 1 vs 1, 2 vs 2, or even 3 vs 3 alongside 5 vs 5 scrims. It would be much more beneficial to improve one's skill if the opposing team had the option to attack. In the current practice mode, I personally don't like how the play is blown dead after the defensive team exits the zone.
Another feature in the offline practice mode I would like to see is the ability to play in mini scrimmage games similar to the EASHL practice mode that was in the previous iterations of the game. The create a play feature would also change the dynamic on defense as many Online Versus/HUT players will not be accustomed to seeing the A.I behave in different situations that they are not programmed for.
I feel like this would help to eliminate some of the frustration I have with the A.I. In the near future, I would like to see the "create a play" feature be added back into the game. In fact, it has actually regressed since NHL 14. Last-gen systems, meanwhile, will get what sounds like a version of NHL 15 with updated rosters called NHL: Legacy Edition.Suggestions for improvement: Practice mode has been in the game for nearly a decade now and has not seen many changes.
NHL 16 is due out for Xbox One and PS4 on September 15 in North America and September 17 in Europe. EA claims this year's version has been "reimagined to deliver a new player class system for a more competitive and balanced experience." It was among the features that were either missing from NHL 15 or were added in post-launch updates. EA says that it will send beta codes to a select number of these players, though you'll need to be opted in for EA's NHL emails to have a chance of receiving one.ĮASHL allows players to form teams with each other and then compete in 6-on-6 online matches. However, if you owned NHL 15 on either of those platforms and have since moved on to a current-gen system, you may still be able to get in. With NHL 16 being exclusive to Xbox One and PS4, the beta won't be available on Xbox 360 or PS3. That potentially means NHL 15 owners can share their game disc with friends who can also snag the beta. Once you've started the download, you won't need to be inside of NHL 15 to play it.
To download the beta, simply boot up NHL 15 starting on July 30 and you should see a listing for it in the game's main menu. By clicking 'enter', you agree to GameSpot's
